Our client, an early-stage technology company, had developed a new type of fuel cell. The project's main intellectual property involved novel membrane materials based on ionic polymers. The limited synthetic chemistry capability of the client meant they had difficulties in developing the IP to a point where this emerging technology could be commerically exploited.
AF ChemPharm was tasked with a contract research project to develop, synthesise and supply the constituent monomers for our client's new membranes. We were able to perform this very successfully, allowing the client to take their product to market while avoiding the need for them to assign internal resources to the crucial chemistry development.
